Poet Hilda Weiss on BlogTalk Radio

Hey, all you poets, head on over to BlogTalk Radio and listen to Alaina Alexander interview the “calming” and “elegant” Hilda Weiss. Yes, those are Alaina’s words, but she’s right. Hilda reads her work in a rich, soothing voice—like creamy chocolate—and her pacing is spot on. My favorite thing about Hilda’s speaking, however? She’s comfortable in the silences.

Hilda, along with her SAM (“same as married”) partner, Wayne, started www.poetry.la, a website where they upload video shot from poetry readings around the Los Angeles area. Visit their site to see poets in action, and find out where you can see the L.A. poets read in person.

On a final note, before you click on the BlogTalk Radio link above and listen to the full interview, I want to share with you the advice Hilda gives to her listeners about writing: Seek support, she says. Encouragement of the non-judgmental type. And get out there. Put both feet in the water, get in up to your knees. “Keep moving.”
